What can I add to Train AI? Every source type explained

Train AI takes almost any business information you already have. Facts go on the Knowledge tab as text, files, a website import or images. How the AI talks goes on the Instructions tab.

Knowledge tab: what the AI knows

Plain text: type or paste anything, such as hours, address, policies, FAQs or a short price list. Best for facts that change often.
PDF: brochures, menus, rate cards, catalogues, terms. The AI reads the text inside the PDF.
CSV: price lists, product lists, room rates, course fees. Each row is read with its column names, so the AI can answer "how much is X" precisely.
Text (.txt) and Markdown (.md): notes and documents saved as plain text.
Website: paste your site address and click Scrape to turn the page into knowledge cards.
Images: photos the AI can send, such as a payment QR code, your menu card, a location map or product photos.

Files you need to convert first

Excel (.xlsx, .xls): save it as CSV, then upload the CSV. In Excel use File, Save As, CSV. In Google Sheets use File, Download, Comma separated values.
Word (.docx): save it as PDF, then upload the PDF. Or copy the text into a Plain text card.
Scanned PDFs (pictures of pages): the AI cannot read them. Type the important parts into a Plain text card instead.

Files can be up to 5MB and images up to 8MB. Each file keeps up to 300 excerpts. For a CSV that means up to 300 rows per file, so split a bigger list into two files.

Images are sent, not read

The AI does not read the words inside an image. It uses the title and keywords you give the image to decide when to send it. So if you add a photo of your menu, also add the prices as text or as a PDF or CSV, so the AI can answer price questions in words.

I have a price list. If I upload it, will the AI answer prices?

Yes. Upload it as a CSV or a text PDF, or paste it into a Plain text card. The AI then answers price questions from it. See How to add your price list or menu.

Can I upload an Excel file?

Not directly. Save the sheet as CSV and upload that. It works the same way, one row per item.

Is there a limit on how much I can add?

Each file can be up to 5MB and keeps up to 300 excerpts. You can add many files, text cards and images.
