How to add a photo, video or PDF to a scheduled post

You can attach one photo, video or file to each scheduled post. Your text goes under it as the caption.

Attach a file

Only one attachment is allowed per post. With a file attached, the message text is optional.

  1. In Schedule Posts, click Attach a photo, video or file under the message box.
  2. Choose the file from your computer and wait for it to upload.
  3. To change it, click Replace. To take it off, click Remove.

Supported files and sizes

  • Photos: JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 10 MB.
  • Video: MP4, up to 20 MB.
  • Files: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, CSV, MP3, M4A, OGG or WAV, up to 25 MB.

We also check the file's content. A file renamed to a different extension is refused with a message like "That doesn't look like a real .pdf file, so it wasn't uploaded."

Long captions

WhatsApp allows about 1,024 characters under a photo, video or file. If your text is longer, the file is sent first and the text follows as a separate message right after it. The preview shows where it splits.

Common questions

I see "You have several uploads waiting." What does it mean?

You can have up to 10 uploaded files that are not attached to a scheduled post yet. Schedule a post or remove an upload first.

I see "You've reached your storage limit for attachments."

Each account has 200 MB for post attachments. Older attachments are removed automatically after their posts are sent, so space frees up over time.

Can I send a voice note?

You can attach MP3, M4A, OGG or WAV audio. It is sent as a file.
