How to label, search and filter chats

Use labels to tag chats (for example New lead or Paid), and use the search box and filter buttons at the top of the chat list to find a chat fast.

Add a label to a chat

  1. Open the chat in Chats.
  2. Click + Add label under the contact name (or the + button if the chat already has labels).
  3. Click an existing label to add it. A tick shows which labels the chat already has.

Create a new label

The new label is added to the open chat and becomes available for every chat on your account.

  1. Open a chat and click + Add label.
  2. Type a name in New label name (up to 40 characters).
  3. Click one of the 8 colors.
  4. Click Create & assign.

Remove a label

  1. Open the chat.
  2. Click the × on the label pill. You can also open + and click the label again to untick it.

Removing a label from a chat does not delete the label. There is currently no way to rename or delete a label from the app.

Search and filter the chat list

Filters work together. If nothing fits, the list says Nothing matches this filter.

  • Search name, phone, or message: type part of a contact name, a word from the last message, or at least 3 digits of a phone number.
  • All, Chats, Groups: show everything, only one to one chats, or only group chats.
  • All, Mine, Unassigned: show every chat, only chats assigned to you, or chats nobody has taken yet.
  • Label chips: click a label to show only chats with it. Click it again to clear the filter.

Common questions

Can my team see my labels?

Yes. Labels belong to the account, so everyone who can open Chats sees and uses the same labels.

Why don't I see the label chips under the search box?

Label chips only appear once your account has at least one label. Create one from any open chat.

Can I search for a phone number with spaces or a plus sign?

Yes. Only the digits are compared, so +91 98765 43210 and 9876543210 both find the same chat.
